About the squad.

BOMBA was born out of friendship, family, and culture. Joe and Joel have been cooking side by side for over a decade — first as colleagues, then roommates, and now as family, with Joe proudly holding the title of “Uncle Joe” to Joel’s 8-year-old son. As young community organizers, they bonded over the parallels in their upbringings with colorful Italian-American fathers and a deep love of food that brings people together. Joel’s family roots also span Haiti, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, infusing BOMBA with island warmth, rhythm, and soul that dance naturally with the comfort and tradition of Italian cooking.

Angie is a Certified Sommelier and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with over 15 years of experience across every corner of hospitality. Her approach to wine is grounded, thoughtful, and guest-focused — balancing deep expertise with an easygoing warmth that makes everyone feel at home. At BOMBA, Angie curates each pairing to enhance the story on the plate, bringing professionalism, comfort, and a touch of magic to every glass poured.
